Jack days 常被說得很糟，但牠們也會餓、也有家庭，而且據我所知，並不會有 REF 掉落（REF drops）🐁🐤。我已經不再對大自然生氣了。牠們都已盡力，而食物就是生命（Food=Life）。♥️

Jack days do get a bad rap, but they get hungry, have families, and do NOT have REF drops🐁🐤 that I know of. I stopped being mad at nature. They all do their best an Food=Life. ♥️

她不知道她的蛋（eggs）已經破了。至少到最後，她只會知道那些蛋只是沒有孵化（didn't hatch）。

She doesn't know her eggs are broken. At least at the end she'll just know her eggs just didn't hatch.

我猜這就是為什麼那顆蛋一開始（at first）會黏在 Mr. Dove 身上的原因。

我也是這麼想，Floelna；牠看起來也沒吃多少，所以對我們來說就顯得很壞（mean）。

I thought that Floelna, it didn't seem to eat much so it does seem mean to us

看起來這些寒鴉（jackdaw）甚至沒有好好把蛋吃掉，只是啄出洞（pecked the holes）而已。

如果蛋大致上還是完整（solid）的，牠們也許會一路坐孵到足月（full term），直到蛋逾期（overdue）為止。

嗨 Pamela，很遺憾，今天早上有一隻寒鴉（jackdaw）打破了石鴿（stock dove）配偶這兩顆正在阿什谷（Ash Hollow）孵卵（brooding）的蛋😔。

嗨 Remy，我有看到整個過程，真的很糟（awful）。她一看到寒鴉（jackdaws）進來就立刻回去防守（defend），但寒鴉擋住了她進去。接著牠們刺破了蛋（pierced the eggs），我都哭了，太可怕了（horrible）。

The people who have said it's better it happens now than after they hatch are right though. As much as I was hoping for the best this was always going to be a difficult place to nest

她後來又回來（came back）並重新孵卵（resumed incubating），這件事特別令人心碎（especially heartbreaking）💔

蛋被攻擊了，真的很難過。從一開始（from the get-go）我就有點覺得牠們注定失敗了（doomed），因為那個巢對其他鳥來說就是個熱點（hotspot）。林鴿（Wood pigeons）會保衛巢，但離開時對鴉科鳥類（corvids）很脆弱（vulnerable）。

Sad the eggs were attacked. I kinda felt they were doomed from the get-go, since that nest is such a hotspot for other birds. Wood pigeons defend their nests, but are vulnerable to corvids when away.

兩顆蛋都被攻擊了（were attacked），而且都有洞（have holes in them）。

既然這起可悲的掠食事件（sad predation）已經發生了，我真希望寒鴉（jackdaws）把蛋（eggs）直接弄碎（disintegrated）到什麼都不剩，至少不會留下東西讓牠繼續坐著。看著那隻鴿子（dove）還在努力孵卵（incubate），真的很難過。

Given that this sad predation has happened, I wish the jackdaws had disintegrated the eggs and left nothing to sit on. It is so sad seeing the dove still trying to incubate.

我讀到說，林鳩（stock dove）孵卵輪班（brooding shifts）之間有空檔（gap）其實很常見（quite common）。你會以為牠們會像 A+A 一樣，等另一隻來了再離開，但顯然（apparently）牠們常常不會。

I read it's quite common for there to be a gap between stock dove brooding shifts. You'd think they would wait until the other arrived before leaving like A+A do, but apparently they often don't

那隻烏鴉（crow）沒有錯過那個轉瞬即逝的空檔（split-second opening）。鴿子（pigeon）一離開，牠立刻闖入巢中（invaded the nest），把蛋裡的內容吃掉了。

The crow did not miss the split-second opening. Immediately after the pigeon left, it invaded the nest and ate the contents of the eggs.

可惜巢裡沒有麥克風（microphone）😨，可憐的鴿子（dovies）們，讓牠們休息一下吧（give them a break）😢
